About Five Pagoda Temple, Hohhot
The Five Pagoda Temple, formally the Diamond Throne Relic Pagoda, is a Qing-dynasty brick pagoda about 16 m tall, begun in the Yongzheng reign (from 1727), with five small pagodas on a square base. The base is carved with the Diamond Sutra in three scripts and the upper part with more than a thousand small gilded Buddha figures, and a stone-carved star chart labelled in Mongolian stands against the north wall of the compound.
