Huludao 葫芦岛Húludǎo
A walled Ming garrison town, bay beaches and the Great Wall on the Hebei border

About Huludao
Huludao lines the western shore of Liaodong Bay, on the coastal corridor between north China and the north-east. Its main sight is Xingcheng Old Town, the Ming garrison city of Ningyuan founded in 1428, whose brick walls and central drum tower still stand, with beaches close by and Juehua Island offshore. On the Hebei border, the Jiumenkou Great Wall carries the Ming wall across a river on a stone bridge with nine arched openings.
