About Luohe

Luohe, where the Sha and Li rivers meet, is a food-processing city, home to Shuanghui meats and Weilong snacks. At Jiahu in Wuyang, settled around 7000 BC, archaeologists found flutes carved from crane bones that are among the oldest playable instruments in the world, with traces of a fermented drink. Xu Shen, compiler of the Shuowen Jiezi dictionary, was born and buried here, and at Fancheng in Linying two steles record the last Han emperor yielding his throne to Cao Pi in 220.
