About Fujian
Fujian's mountainous interior shelters the tulou, huge round and square earthen houses where whole clans once lived around a shared courtyard. The Wuyi Mountains pair a winding river gorge with cliff-edge tea gardens that produce some of China's most prized oolong. On the coast, Xiamen with its car-free islet of Gulangyu and the old port of Quanzhou reflect centuries of seafaring and emigration to Southeast Asia.
