Chuzhou 滁州Chúzhōu
The Old Toper's Pavilion and the home county of the first Ming emperor

About Chuzhou
Chuzhou lies north of the Yangtze about 50 km from central Nanjing, and a cross-border commuter line will link the two cities. Its best-known sight is Mount Langya, where Ouyang Xiu, the Song writer who was prefect here, wrote his essay on the Zuiweng (Old Toper's) Pavilion in 1046. To the north-west, Fengyang was the boyhood home of Zhu Yuanzhang, founder of the Ming dynasty, who began a capital there, Ming Zhongdu, and built his parents a tomb lined with stone figures.
