About Former Residence of Xu Xiangqian
The Qing-dynasty courtyard house in Yongan village where Xu Xiangqian, who was made a marshal of the People's Liberation Army in 1955, was born and lived. It is a typical northern Shanxi courtyard of brick houses with a two-storey building at the back, restored in the early 1990s and opened to visitors in 1992. Its seven exhibition rooms cover his life, and a separate Marshal Xu Xiangqian Memorial Hall opened in 2011.
