About Jianchu Land-Purchase Inscription
A cliff inscription cut in AD 76 on the eastern slope of Tiao hill in Fusheng, recording in 20 characters that six brothers bought this hillside together as a burial ground, with the words 'Da Ji' ('great fortune') above. It is the oldest known cliff inscription in Zhejiang and the largest surviving land deed for a tomb in China, with a colophon of 1823 by the Qing scholar Wu Rongguang carved beside it, and the rock now sits inside a small railed shelter.
