About Che Kung Temple
A temple at Tai Wai dedicated to Che Kung, a Song-dynasty general worshipped as a protector against epidemics. The present temple was built in 1994 in front of the older one and renovated in 2012, and houses a large golden statue of Che Kung and a fan-bladed wheel of fortune that worshippers spin for luck. The busiest day is the Che Kung Festival on the second day of the first lunar month, which draws large crowds.
