About Quanzhou Confucian Temple

The prefectural Confucian temple and school of Quanzhou, on this site since the late 10th century and rebuilt in 1137, is one of the components of the Quanzhou World Heritage site. Its Dacheng Hall stands under a double-eaved, yellow-tiled hipped roof carried on carved dragon columns, with the school's Minglun Hall alongside. The side halls hold exhibitions on Quanzhou's history, the temple itself and the city's tradition of learning, and three Ming memorial shrines survive around the square.
