About Cheung Shan Monastery, Ping Che
A two-hall Buddhist temple at Miu Keng in Ping Che, probably built in 1789 as Cheung Sang Nunnery. It stood halfway along the old route to Shenzhen via Sha Tau Kok and served as a rest stop where travellers were offered tea. The rear hall is about a metre higher than the front hall, plaster mouldings decorate the inside and outside, and the Buddha, Kwun Yum and Tei Chong Wong are worshipped within.
