About Morrison Chapel (Protestant Chapel)

A small whitewashed chapel in the Old Protestant Cemetery, renovated in 1922 and named after Robert Morrison, the missionary who translated the Bible into Chinese. Its stained-glass window shows an open Bible with Chinese characters, and plaques inside commemorate foreign residents of China. The cemetery behind it has more than 180 graves, mostly of British and American people, recalling the foreign trading and naval presence in Macau.
