About Camões Square
A small square at the northern edge of the old city, beside Luís de Camões Garden, Casa Garden and the Old Protestant Cemetery. Its Portuguese name, Praça de Luís de Camões, honours the poet, while the Chinese name means pigeon-nest square, after the white pigeons kept by a Portuguese merchant who lived nearby. It is a place where residents gather to relax, and one of the squares of the Historic Centre of Macau.
