About Guangdong Customs House
Finished in 1916 for the Chinese Maritime Customs, this granite-faced Neoclassical building on the riverfront was designed by British architects of the customs service and is known locally as the Big Clock Tower for the English mechanical clock of 1915 in its tower. After the Guangzhou customs moved out in 2006 it was restored as a museum on the history of the Guangdong customs.
