About Daxinzhuang Site
A large Shang-period settlement on the north-eastern edge of Jinan that became an urban centre in the early 13th century BCE and grew into one of the biggest Shang sites outside the Central Plains. Oracle bones with inscriptions found here in 2003 were reported as the first of their kind outside Anyang. The remains lie below ground; the site museum nearby, opened on a trial basis in December 2025, shows more than 800 finds.
