About Lu Han's Mansion

The 1930s residence of Lu Han, chairman of Yunnan province, opposite the east gate of Green Lake Park: a two-storey house with red tiles, carved stone door and window surrounds and steep, Gothic-influenced roofs. On 9 December 1949 Lu Han detained several senior Nationalist figures here and declared the Kunming uprising, by which Yunnan changed sides peacefully in the civil war. After restoration it opened as a public museum in 2020, with displays on the uprising.
