About Xishuangbanna Southern Medicine Garden

A 20-hectare garden of medicinal plants on Xuanwei Avenue in central Jinghong, set up in 1959 by what is now the Yunnan branch of the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development. It grows more than 1,500 species used in Chinese, Dai and other traditional medicine under tall tropical trees, and labelled paths make it a shady hour or two in town that pairs easily with the nearby Tropical Flower Garden.
