About Guanxian Old Town, Dujiangyan

The historic core of Dujiangyan, a city known as Guan County until 1988, lying beside the ancient irrigation scheme. Much of it was rebuilt after the 2008 earthquake, but its lanes include West Street, the starting point of the old road into the mountains towards Songpan, a restored stretch of the old city wall, the Confucian temple and the City God Temple, a nationally protected group of halls climbing the slope of Yulei Mountain. It is easily combined with a visit to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System.
