About Kuiguang Pagoda

A hexagonal brick pagoda in Dujiangyan city, rebuilt in 1831 on a Ming predecessor by a county magistrate to promote local scholarship. At 52.67 metres with 17 tiers of eaves, it is described as the old pagoda with the most storeys surviving in China. Spiral stone stairs run through the lower five storeys, and a small shrine to the magistrate stands beside it.
