About Mei Lanfang Memorial Museum
The courtyard house where Mei Lanfang, the Peking opera star often credited with first taking the art abroad, with tours to Japan and in 1930 to North America, spent his last decade from 1951 to 1961. Opened as a memorial in 1986, it keeps his reception room, study and bedroom as they were and shows his stage costumes, programmes and paintings.
