About Baoding Military Academy

Memorial hall and surviving grounds of the Baoding Military Academy, which trained thousands of officers between 1912 and 1923 and served as a model for the Whampoa Academy set up in Guangzhou in 1924. Most of the original campus is gone: a firing range, a reviewing stand and a moat survive, and the former parade ground is now a public square. A memorial hall opened in 1995 and covers the academy's history.
