About Daci Pavilion

A Buddhist temple in Baoding's old city whose main hall, a three-storey pavilion on a stone platform, is the tallest surviving historic building in the city. It was founded under the Yuan dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing after a fire in the Qianlong reign, and is flanked by bell and drum towers with a Guandi temple behind. Inside the main hall stands a gilded wooden thousand-armed Guanyin, and the temple has been in religious use again since 2006.
