About Chang Family Manor
The fortified manor of the Chang family, Qing-dynasty merchants who traded tea to Russia, in Chewang village south-west of Yuci. A stone-paved street runs through it past restored courtyard houses, a family temple, the Shiyunxuan study with carved stone tablets, and a large landscaped garden known as Jingyuan. Carved stone and brick, such as the Fish Leaps the Dragon Gate relief at the west gate, reward a slow visit.
