About Wubian Temple

A walled temple in the old town of Taigu, best known for its White Pagoda, a hollow octagonal brick pagoda built in 1090 under the Northern Song. The pagoda imitates a timber tower, with seven storeys outside and nine inside, stands 43 m high and has a wooden staircase within. After a fire in the Tongzhi era left only the pagoda standing, the temple around it, with a gate and opera stage, a pavilion and the main hall, was rebuilt in 1904–06.
