About Stork Tower
The Stork Tower is a modern reconstruction of a tower on the Yellow River bank made famous by a short poem of the Tang poet Wang Zhihuan, and it is counted as one of China's Four Great Towers. The original was a Northern Zhou military watchtower that was destroyed in the wars of the early 13th century; the present 73.9 m tower, built in Tang style on a steel and concrete frame, was finished in 2002. Its six interior floors carry exhibits on the history and culture of Puzhou, and the surrounding scenic area covers about 2 sq km.
