About Wangcong Temple

A memorial temple in Pidu to Wangdi (Du Yu) and Congdi (Bieling), two legendary kings of ancient Shu, traditionally credited with teaching farming and taming floods. Their burial mounds stand within the grounds, and it is described as the only shrine in south-west China honouring two kings together at their tombs. The surviving halls date mainly from the Qing dynasty, and the site is protected at provincial level.
