About Sandaoyan Water Town, Pidu

A riverside town in northern Pidu, named after a legend that an early Shu ruler built three weirs of bamboo baskets here to divert water for the fields, and once a busy river port and trading post. Its waterfront has been rebuilt as Huili Street, a lane of restaurants, snack stalls, teahouses and shops recreating the look of the late Qing and early Republic, beside canals and small bridges.
