About Grand Guandi Temple, Taiyuan

A temple to Guan Yu that the museum running it calls the largest and best preserved in Taiyuan, with Ming buildings on Jin-Yuan foundations arranged in two courtyards: the Chongning Hall, where Guan Yu sits in imperial dress, and behind it the two-storey Chunqiu Tower, with bell and drum towers and side halls. It was included in China's World Heritage tentative list in 2019 as Taiyuan's only nomination point on the Great Tea Road.
