About Old District Office North

The Old District Office North was built around 1907 and was the first seat of civil administration in the New Territories after the area was leased to Britain; government business and land registration for the northern New Territories were handled here, and a magistrate's court sat in the building until 1961. It is a red-brick colonial building with open verandahs and brick arches along its east and west sides, and its antique fireplaces survive. Since 2002 it has housed the Law Ting Pong Scout Centre of the Scout Association of Hong Kong.
