About Qinghui Garden

One of the four great classical gardens of Guangdong, created in Daliang by five generations of the Long family on the site of a Ming-dynasty garden and given its name in 1806. Its compact 0.34-hectare plot is divided into a southern water garden around a square pond, a central area of pavilions, a boat hall and studies, and a northern residential quarter of bamboo courts. The airy layout, open at the front and denser at the back, suits the hot southern climate, and the buildings are rich in fretwork wood carving and brick carving.
