About Fahai Temple
Built between 1439 and 1443 with funds raised by a Ming court eunuch, Fahai Temple is known for the murals in its main hall, painted in the 1440s by court and local artists and among the oldest and best-preserved wall paintings in Beijing. The hall is kept dark and visitor numbers are strictly limited to protect them, so the nearby digital Fahai Temple Mural Art Museum reproduces the murals at full size on high-resolution screens.
