Why go to Shanghai Disney Resort
Shanghai Disney Resort in Pudong is a commercial theme-park resort that opened in 2016. Its main attraction is Shanghai Disneyland, which has eight themed areas, an Enchanted Storybook Castle, rides, parades and shows, alongside a shopping and dining district and two themed hotels. It suits families and Disney fans, and is not a cultural sight in the traditional sense.
The story
Opened on 16 June 2016, it is the first Disney resort in mainland China and is owned by Shanghai Shendi Group (57 percent) and The Walt Disney Company (43 percent). In 2024 the park drew about 14.7 million visitors.

How to visit Shanghai Disney Resort

- Chuansha old-town snacks 川沙老街小吃: Chuansha's old streets, a short ride from the resort, have small snack shops that are cheaper than the park's restaurants.
