About Century Park

A park of about 140 hectares of lakes, lawns and woodland at the end of Century Avenue in Pudong, designed by the British consultancy LUC, opened in 2000 and described as the largest naturalistic park inside Shanghai's Inner Ring Road. It is laid out in seven areas, including a lakeside area, a bird-protection zone and an 'exotic' garden area, with small sights such as a flower clock and a music fountain, boating and bicycles for hire, and makes a quiet break next to the science museum.
