About City God Temple, Pingyao
A three-courtyard temple complex of about 7,300 sq m in which the City God temple stands on the main axis, with a Kitchen God temple and a God of Wealth temple to either side. The axis runs from a gate archway through a two-storey opera tower and an offering hall to the main hall and a sleeping hall, and the main hall's west wall carries a mural of the City God's procession. The buildings were rebuilt between 1864 and 1869 after a fire in 1859.
