About Nanjing Eye Footbridge & Hexi Riverside

A riverside park area of about 61 hectares on both banks of the Jiajiang, the arm of the Yangtze between Nanjing's Hexi new town and Jiangxinzhou island, taking its name from the Nanjing Eye, a cable-stayed footbridge across the channel. The bridge was completed in 2014 for the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, described at the time as the first bridge over the Yangtze for pedestrians only, and links the riverside of the Youth Olympic quarter with the Youth Olympic Forest Park on the island. The area is themed on the river landscape and the 2014 Games, and is a place to stroll the riverfront and cross the Yangtze channel on foot.
