About Bisezhai Railway Station

A station on the French-built Yunnan–Vietnam railway, opened in 1909, where goods were transferred to the narrow-gauge Gejiu–Bisezhai–Shiping line, turning a small village into a busy trading post nicknamed 'Little Paris of the East'. Passenger trains stopped in 1992, and the yellow-walled, red-tiled French station buildings, the Greek-run Gelusi hotel, merchants' warehouses and a branch customs house are now a railway heritage park. Feng Xiaogang filmed scenes of his 2017 film Youth here.
