About Lou Lim Ioc Garden

Lou Lim Ioc Garden (Jardim de Lou Lim Ioc) is a walled Chinese garden in the style of Suzhou, created by the merchant Lou Wa Sio and his son Lou Lim Iok, and opened to the public in 1974 after the government bought and restored it. Paths wind through bamboo groves and under moulded rockeries to a pond of golden carp and lotus, crossed by a nine-turn zigzag bridge. The main hall, Chun Chou Tong Pavilion, mixes Chinese and Western details and hosts exhibitions; Sun Yat-sen stayed there in May 1912, and the garden also holds the Macau Tea Culture House.
