About Dom Pedro V Theatre

Built in 1860 as the first Western-style theatre in China, this neoclassical building has sage-green walls with white mouldings, dark green doors and shutters, and a terracotta roof. It once also housed a ballroom, a reading room and a billiard parlour, and its vestibule has an old crystal chandelier. The 276-seat hall remains a performing venue, and the theatre is part of the Historic Centre of Macau.
