A monument on the bank of the Lhasa River, unveiled on 25 December 1984 to mark 30 years since the Sichuan–Tibet and Qinghai–Tibet highways opened to traffic. The three-sided column carries inscriptions in Tibetan and Chinese honouring the soldiers and the people of Tibet, Sichuan and Qinghai who built the two roads and those who died building them, and its title was written by Hu Yaobang.
