About Jingzhou Museum

The regional museum of Jingzhou, founded in 1958, holds some 196,000 items, most of them from excavations in and around the city. Its permanent displays cover the prehistoric cultures of the Jianghan plain, bronzes, jades, bamboo-slip documents, ceramics and lacquerware, with the Mashan tomb textiles and the preserved body of a Western Han man from Fenghuangshan tomb 168 among the highlights. Kaiyuan Guan, one of Jingzhou's three nationally listed Taoist temples, stands in the museum grounds.

How to get to Jingzhou Museum

In the middle of Jingzhou old town, a short bus ride from Jingzhou railway station (routes 15 or 21 to the Wuyiyuan stop, then a walk of about 450 m); closed on Mondays except public holidays.
