About Northeast Martyrs' Memorial Hall

A three-storey neoclassical building put up in 1928–31 as a library and later used as the Harbin police headquarters under the Japanese-controlled state of Manchukuo, which has been a memorial hall since 1948. Its main exhibition covers the anti-Japanese resistance and the civil-war period in north-east China and, according to a 2021 official case study, includes more than 600 photographs and 400 objects, alongside displays on the building's use by the police. A historic tram car stands in the square outside.
