About Tung Lin Kok Yuen

Tung Lin Kok Yuen is a Buddhist monastery in Happy Valley, founded in 1935 by Lady Clara Ho Tung and her husband Sir Robert Ho Tung. Its arrowhead-shaped plan was meant to suggest a ship carrying all beings to the other shore, and its Western structural frame is finished with Chinese flying eaves, brackets and glazed-tile roofs. It remains a working monastery that runs Buddhist courses and talks.
