About Ciqikou Ancient Town
A former river port on the Jialing River whose name, 'porcelain mouth', recalls the pottery trade of the Ming and Qing dynasties, now a busy pedestrian quarter of 12 flagstone lanes lined with old-style shops and snack stalls. Among its timber houses are Baolun Temple, a Wenchang Palace and several listed Qing-era homes, and near the old wharf stands the 'Little Chongqing' stone inscribed by Lin Sen, the wartime head of the Nationalist government.
How to get to Ciqikou Ancient Town
In Shapingba District on the Jialing River, about 12 km west of Jiefangbei, a short metro or taxi ride from the centre.
