About Old Supreme Court Building
Opened in 1912 on reclaimed land and built on a foundation of hundreds of Chinese fir piles, this three-storey granite building is Neo-classical, with tall Ionic columns and a central pediment topped by a blindfolded statue of Justice as the Greek goddess Themis. It housed the Legislative Council chamber from 1985 to 2011 and has been home to the Court of Final Appeal since 2015. Only the exterior is declared a monument.
