About Old Bank of China Building
Completed in the early 1950s on Des Voeux Road Central, the Bank of China Building mixes Chinese and Western architectural styles, with white granite cladding and deep red metal window frames. A pair of Chinese stone lions stand at the main entrance, behind which the central revolving door has a distinctly Western look. It has been a Grade I historic building since 2009, and appears in Wong Kar-wai's film Days of Being Wild (1990).
