About Beidaihe Historic Villas
A seafront resort district of villas built from the 1890s for foreign residents and wealthy Chinese, after the Qing government named Beidaihe a summer resort for people of all nations in 1898. Twenty buildings are on the national list, among them the five-villa Wufenglou group and a church, out of roughly 110 old villas that survived to 2013. Many are now hotels, restaurants or offices, so most are best seen from the street while walking the seafront between Lianfeng Hill and Pigeon Nest Park.
How to get to Beidaihe Historic Villas
Scattered along the Beidaihe seafront, roughly 12 km south-west of Qinhuangdao station (about 15 km by road), so allow time to move between the buildings.
