Anshan 鞍山Ānshān
Steel city beside the granite peaks and old temples of Qianshan

About Anshan
Anshan grew up around one of China's biggest steelworks, whose story the Ansteel Museum tells in a 1950s workshop of the plant. South-east of the city, Qianshan National Park packs granite peaks, old pines and Buddhist and Daoist temples into about 44 sq km, and the Tanggangzi hot springs have drawn bathers for more than a century. The Jade Buddha Palace is built around a statue carved from a single block of Xiuyan jade weighing some 260 tonnes.
