Goguryeo royal tombs on the Yalu, volcanic crater lakes and wild-grape wine

About Tonghua
Ji'an, on the Yalu River opposite the North Korean town of Manpo, was a capital of the Goguryeo kingdom, and its fortress cities and tombs, among them the stepped granite General's Tomb and the Gwanggaeto Stele of 414, joined the World Heritage list in 2004. Tonghua city is known for wine made from wild mountain grapes, and the Tonghua Winery, founded in 1937, keeps its old underground cellar. In the hills of Huinan, the Longwan lakes fill volcanic craters.
