About Jingmen

Jingmen, the 'gate to Jingzhou', spreads over the low hills and Han River farmland of central Hubei. At Zhongxiang stands the Xianling Tomb, built for the father of the Jiajing Emperor and listed by UNESCO with the other Ming and Qing imperial tombs, with a winding dragon-shaped spirit way and two burial mounds. At Qujialing, a museum and site park mark the type site of a Neolithic farming culture of the middle Yangtze, known for its eggshell-thin painted pottery.
