About Li Ye Que
The single surviving pillar of the funerary que of Li Ye, an official who lived at the turn of the Western and Eastern Han, is thought to date from the start of the Eastern Han and is regarded as the earliest of China's surviving Han que. Only the base and the 2.45-metre shaft remain, inscribed in clerical script, and it stands under a protective pavilion in the Li Jieshi Shrine, where it was moved in 1845, at the foot of Changqing Mountain.
