About Shenhou Ancient Town

A pottery town in the hills south-west of Yuzhou where Jun ware has been made since the Tang and Song, and which is still full of working kilns, studios and showrooms. Its winding old street keeps Ming and Qing houses, the Bolingweng Temple with its opera stage and other shrines, and the town was named a national historic and cultural town in 2005. The town's kiln-site museum is open, and many workshops let visitors watch the firing or try the potter's wheel.
